I told you from the beginning that this website would serve as an invitation to join us on a journey to change and growth. I have come to realize that the journey is very phasic. Some stages of the venture move quickly, some move slowly; then there are the points along the way where everything halts. For the sake of transparency, I was in a halted position, contemplating and assessing. I needed to stop, re-calibrate myself and determine if I was truly committed to this process of development. I have taken the time I needed and I am back…with a vengeance.
Our last discussion touched on the subject of concession: specifically “never concede”. I earnestly urged you to never accept defeat in any area of your life. Today, I’d like to delve even further into the Hall Mantra and tell you to Never Compromise. Most often, when the word “compromise” is used, it is indicative of two or more parties, mutually settling differences or conflicts by agreeing to meet “somewhere in the middle”. Basically, each surrenders a portion of what is truly desired in an attempt to find common ground that is favorable, or acceptable, to all involved. In this regard, compromises are necessary and needful. However, there is a more appropriate definition for our discussion:
For a moment, I want you to think about YOU: your character, your integrity, your goals, your dreams, your important relationships, your meaning, your purpose. I want you to see the value of who YOU are. I want you to consider how crucial and vital these areas of your life are and be aware of how critical it is to nurture, care for and develop them. Go ahead…take that moment.
Now that you have formed the image of who YOU are, to what lengths would you go to PROTECT who YOU are? This is what I mean when I say NEVER COMPROMISE. When it comes to the very things that define you, and that matter to you the most, you must NEVER let them become exposed to anything or any person that will detract from your values, your character, or your system of belief. Nothing must be allowed to weaken your dreams, lower your standards, or diminish your destiny. At all costs, you have to uphold who YOU are no matter what opposition may come. There will be plenty of opportunity in life for you to engage in compromise. But you must constantly be on guard against such. Your standards must be upheld…period. In order to avoid compromise, you will need a strong sense of purpose, identity, and unyielding faith.
*Purpose gives you the reasons why you pursue greatness, growth and change.
*Identity is the confidence that establishes the person you are and strive to be. You know who you are and what it is you want to accomplish.
*Faith is absolutely critical. Faith is the gift of God to see and believe that what you strive for has already been etched in your destiny. Faith allows you to become immovable in your assertion that you will absolutely gain what you are seeking after.
Wear your purpose, identity and faith as armor, covering and protecting you from life’s blows and attacks; from the assaults that would aim to weaken and overtake us. But stay steadfast and staunch in your stand.
FIGHT WITH EVERY FIBER OF YOUR BEING TO BE ABSOLUTE AND RESOLUTE IN YOUR PURPOSE, IDENTITY AND FAITH!
Never settle for less, never endanger your destiny, never lower your quality or your value…NEVER COMPROMISE.
10-12: And that about wraps it up. God is strong, and he wants you strong. So take everything the Master has set out for you, well-made weapons of the best materials. And put them to use so you will be able to stand up to everything the Devil throws your way. This is no afternoon athletic contest that we’ll walk away from and forget about in a couple of hours. This is for keeps, a life-or-death fight to the finish against the Devil and all his angels.
13-18: Be prepared. You’re up against far more than you can handle on your own. Take all the help you can get, every weapon God has issued, so that when it’s all over but the shouting you’ll still be on your feet. Truth, righteousness, peace, faith, and salvation are more than words. Learn how to apply them. You’ll need them throughout your life. God’s Word is an indispensable weapon.
